‘Tow’ Trailer- Rose Byrne, Dominic Sessa and Demi Lovato Star in Stephanie Laing’s True-Life Drama

Inspired by a true story, filmmaker Stephanie Laing’s latest drama Tow stars Rose Byrne as Amanda Ogle, a determined Seattle woman whose life is turned upside down when her aging car, her only shelter and means of survival, is stolen and then impounded, triggering a punishing fight with a predatory towing company.

Byrne is joined by a remarkable ensemble including Dominic Sessa, Demi Lovato, Ariana DeBose, Octavia Spencer, Simon Rex, Elsie Fisher, Lea DeLaria, and Corbin Bernsen.

Tow premiered at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival, where it was featured in the festival’s Spotlight Narrative lineup, and is now scheduled to be released in theaters across the United States on March 20, 2026.

Tow follows Amanda Ogle (Byrne), a woman living in her aging Toyota Camry on the streets of Seattle. When her car — her only lifeline — is stolen and impounded, and held after receiving a tow bill for $21,634, Amanda is thrust into a relentless legal battle against an indifferent system. What begins as a fight to reclaim her car evolves into a deeply human story of resilience, dignity, and the power of one woman’s voice in the face of systemic failure.

Director Stephanie Laing commented, “We made Tow because Amanda Ogle’s fight wasn’t just about a towing bill—it was about the way a woman living in her car can be buried under a $21,634 fee simply for existing in public space, it exposes a broken system that profits from people who often don’t have the means to seek justice. By putting Amanda’s voice on screen, we wanted to remind people that justice thrives in the lives of people and communities who refuse to be erased by a process that depends on their silence, a message that feels more resonant every day. Rose Byrne was the perfect actor to embody Amanda and her fight due to Rose’s combination of vulnerability, intelligence, and defiance, which she manages to wrap in humor and heart. Rose’s performance is grounded in Amanda’s truth, so the audience doesn’t just witness a battle against a corrupt system, they feel the cost of it.” –

In a review following its Tribeca screening, Female Gaze Film Club described Tow as an “inspiring (and downright infuriating) true story of one woman’s tenacity and gumption to fight a corporation exploiting poverty.” The review highlighted Rose Byrne’s committed portrayal of Amanda Ogle writing, “Byrne gives a grounded and incredibly empathetic performance as Amanda as she fight back against a system which exploits poverty and further disenfranchises vulnerable members of our society.”
