In the Blink of an Eye made its world premiere at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, where it was honored with the Alfred P. Here is the official synopsis of In the Blink of an Eye: Three storylines, spanning thousands of years, intersect and reflect on hope, connection, and the circle of life.

The ensemble cast includes Kate McKinnon as Coakley, Rashida Jones as Claire, Daveed Diggs as Greg, along with Jorge Vargas, Tanaya Beatty, and Skywalker Hughes.

Critical responses following the Sundance premiere have been mixed. In a review published by RogerEbert.com, critic Brian Tallerico noted that while In the Blink of an Eye showcases Stanton’s ambition and conceptual creativity, it sometimes struggles to fully realize its narrative potential. The review explained, “If it sounds ambitious, you’re not wrong, but that ambition almost hampers a film that never develops characters beyond its basic ideas. At just around 90 minutes, it often feels like the Cliffs Notes version of a 500-page novel.”
