BAFTA Film Awards – ‘One Battle After Another’ Wins Best Film

One Battle After Another led the winners of the 2026 EE BAFTA Film Awards, hosted by Alan Cumming, winning six BAFTAs, including Best Film, Director, and Adapted Screenplay for Paul Thomas Anderson.

The film also won Supporting Actor for Sean Penn, Cinematography, and Editing.

Sinners won three awards, including Original Screenplay for Ryan Coogler, Supporting Actress for Wunmi Mosaku, and Original Score.

Frankenstein also won three awards for Costume Design, Make Up & Hair, and Production Design.

Hamnet won Outstanding British Film and Leading Actress for Jessie Buckley; with I Swear winning Leading Actor for Robert Aramayo, along with Casting.

This marks first-time BAFTA Film Awards wins for Jessie Buckley, Robert Aramayo, Wunmi Mosaku, and Sean Penn; a first-time BAFTA Film Awards nomination and win for Ryan Coogler; and a first-time Best Director win for Paul Thomas Anderson.

Robert Aramayo also received the EE Rising Star Award, the only award voted for by the public.

Sentimental Value won Film Not in the English Language, Mr. Nobody Against Putin won Documentary, Zootropolis 2 won the Animated Film category, and Boong won Children’s & Family Film.

My Father’s Shadow won Outstanding Debut for a British Writer, Director or Producer for BAFTA Breakthrough Akinola Davies Jr, and Wale Davies.

The BAFTA Fellowship was presented by BAFTA’s President HRH The Prince of Wales, to Dame Donna Langley and Clare Binns, the Creative Director of Picturehouse Cinemas, was awarded the Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema award.

The ceremony included a live performance of “Golden” from HUNTR/X – the singing stars of KPop Demon Hunters. Jessie Ware gave a moving performance of “The Way We Were” during the In Memoriam section, to honour those in the film industry who have sadly passed away in the last 12 months.
