‘Your Attention Please’ Trailer – Sara Robin’s SXSW Documentary Explores Tech Addiction

Making its premiere at South by Southwest Film & TV Festival 2026 (SXSW), here is the first trailer for Your Attention Please, the thought-provoking documentary directed by Sara Robin exploring the human cost of tech addiction.

The film explores how the modern “attention economy” is reshaping human connection, particularly for younger generations growing up in a world dominated by social media, smartphones, and algorithm-driven platforms.

Robin’s documentary brings together voices from across technology, academia, and activism, including figures such as Tristan Harris, Frances Haugen, Cal Newport, and former U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, as well as families and young innovators pushing back against the addictive pull of modern technology. Through interviews, personal stories, and observational footage, the film paints a compelling portrait of individuals seeking to reclaim focus, creativity, and authentic relationships in a hyperconnected world.

Your Attention Please follows several people on their radical journey to overcome the addictive pull of the attention economy, in order to think, feel, and connect deeply again. The documentary explores how unregulated digital technologies affect mental health and human relationships, while highlighting activists, educators, and technologists who are working toward a more humane digital future. Through intimate portraits and expert interviews, the film investigates how technology can erode our capacity to connect with one another and asks how society might reclaim control over its attention.

From Kristin, a mother pursuing legislative reform after losing her son, to Trisha, a young programmer building technology to stop cyberbullying, the film reveals how deeply the attention economy is shaping childhood, mental health, and human connection. As lawmakers debate the Kids Online Safety Act, Gen Z launches a global “Offline Club” movement, and a high school dares to go phone-free. What emerges is not a doomsday story, but a hopeful one: proof that the attention crisis is not inevitable and that a cultural shift is already underway.

As a tie-in to the world premiere, the film launched a coordinated global moment titled Stand for Their Attention, bringing together organizations, experts, educators, and advocates across the digital wellbeing movement in a synchronized trailer release.

“Across the country, families are raising their voices about how social media platforms are shaping childhood, mental health, and human connection,” said Kristin Bride, founder of the Carson J. Bride Effect and a participant in the film. “After losing my son Carson to cyberbullying, I have dedicated my life to advocating for safer digital environments for young people. Your Attention Please gives voice to families like mine and highlights the growing movement calling for accountability and a healthier digital future for the next generation.”
