Noah Kahan: Out of Body is a deeply revealing music documentary that follows the singer-songwriter at a pivotal crossroads in his career.

Directed by Nick Sweeney, the film blends behind-the-scenes tour footage with candid reflections on fame, creativity, and mental health. Centered almost entirely on Kahan himself, the documentary captures both the public triumphs and private struggles of an artist navigating the aftermath of his breakout success with Stick Season, offering a raw and unfiltered look at the cost of rapid ascent in the music industry.

The documentary made its world premiere at the South by Southwest Film & TV Festival and is now set for a global debut on Netflix on April 13, 2026.

In the film, singer-songwriter Noah Kahan finds himself at a crossroads in the wake of the breakout success of Stick Season. After a whirlwind year of sold-out tours and unprecedented acclaim, he returns to his Vermont roots and family to reconnect with himself. Buoyed by his uncanny wit, he searches for a sense of home and creative inspiration as he confronts the deeply personal struggles that have left him out of sync with himself.

Variety notes that the film delves into Kahan’s struggles with body image and mental health, including long-term issues such as disordered eating and body dysmorphia. “When I was a kid, I would look up ‘artists with antidepressants,’ ‘artists with depression,’ and I’d be so disappointed because I couldn’t find anybody that said, ‘Hey, I’m struggling with this too,’” Kahan said.
