Nimrods, the Green Day-inspired comedy film from Live Nation Studios, has been acquired by Inaugural Entertainment.

The film, formerly titled “New Years Rev,” was developed by writer/director Lee Kirk with rock superstars Green Day and produced by Tim Perell for Process.

Nimrods is a coming-of-age story about three friends (Mason Thames, Kylr Coffman and Ryan Foust) who journey to Los Angeles, mistakenly believing that their band is opening for Green Day on New Year’s Eve. Their roadtrip is a rowdy and mischievous jaunt across the country filled with adventures, based on the exploits of Green Day and their years of living in a tour van.

Starring in the movie are Mason Thames, Kylr Coffman, Ryan Foust, Ignacio Diaz- Silverio, Keen Ruffalo, Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey, Mckenna Grace, Fred Armisen, Bobby Lee and Sean Gunn.

“Nimrods is exactly the kind of bold, audience-forward storytelling we’re passionate about at Inaugural. It captures a unique blend of humor, nostalgia, and music that feels both fresh and universally resonant,” said Inaugural Entertainment CEO Kevin Weisberg. “We’re thrilled to collaborate with the filmmakers and Green Day to bring this dynamic story to audiences everywhere.”

“Nimrods is a wild, funny, and music-driven story that reflects the culture surrounding Green Day and their deep fandom,” said Ryan Kroft, Head of Film & Television, Live Nation Studios. “We’re excited to partner with Inaugural to bring that energy to cinemas and continue expanding how Live Nation Studios’ projects connect with mass audiences.”

Credits include Producers Tim Perell for Process, Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool. Ryan Kroft and Michael Rapino for Live Nation Studios and Jonathan Daniel are Executive Producers.
