The 6th edition of the Sicilian Film Festival (SFF) of Miami Beach closed Wednesday, April 13, 2011 with the traditional dinner held at ‘Villa Viscuso’ – Miami Beach residence of Emanuele Viscuso, SFF President. The Audience Choice Award for Best Feature Film went to “The Chicago 8,” from writer/director Pinchas Perry, starring Danny Masterson, Gary Cole and Orlando Jones. The Jury Award for Best Feature Film went to “Polish Bar” from director Ben Berkowitz. “Polish Bar” star Judd Hirsch also won the prize for Best Actor. “Espera un Milagro,” a documentary from Spanish director Gemma Ventura also won two prizes for Best Director and Best Foreign Film.
The Fort Myers Film Festival held March 24-27, 2011 announced its 2011 winners in the Documentary, Features, Shorts, Short Shorts, Strictly Local, Diverse/Latin and Faith & Inspirational categories.

From April 1-3, 2011, the SLC Film Center in Salt Lake CIty, Utah, presents the inaugural Tumbleweeds Film Festival for Children and Youth – the only film festival of its kind in the intermountain west. The 1st annual festival features a jam-packed program of feature-length films from around the world. This year’s festival presents films from ten countries including The Netherlands, Germany and Ireland. Two of the films will be screened in their original language with English subtitles that will be read aloud by a “subtitle reader.” In addition to film screenings, the SLC Film Center is partnering with Spy Hop Productions to present workshops designed to introduce participants to different aspects of filmmaking.
