Project Twenty1, the Philadelphia-based film festival and competition, is holding its 5th annual Film & Animation Festival the weekend of October 1st through 3rd at the 350-seat International House theater at 3701 Chestnut St.

The New York Surf Film Festival(NYSFF), presented by JetBlue Airways and The Dominican Republic, has put the final touches on this year’s features program. Ten officially selected feature length films and two cult classics are set to be screened September 24th- 26th at the legendary Tribeca Cinemas in downtown Manhattan.

Toronto After Dark Film Festival 2010 wrapped up eight thrilling nights of new horror, sci-fi, action and cult movies blazing new cinematic trails and setting new records! A new high of over 9,300 enthusiastic fans attended the festival which ran Aug 13-20 at the city’s legendary Bloor Cinema, over double the size of the event of just four years ago!
Sydney filmmakers took the top awards in the 2010 SCINEMA Festival of Science Film Competition. Sydney filmmaker, Ian Walker, won Best Director for his documentary I, Psychopath, and Sydney production company Essential Media won Best Film for How Kevin Bacon Cured Cancer and Best Television Series for Whatever! The Science of Teens, shown on the local Australian ABC.
Kayna Fichadia, a year two student at Epping North Primary School, was awarded best Primary Student film for her five minute film, Animal Diversity in Bondi.

BLUE Ocean Film Festival announced the finalists of the 2010 film competition. All Finalist films will be screened during the Festival (August 24 – 29) in one of the 6 Monterey Peninsula theater venues in Monterey, California.
Snow Film Fest NYC earlier this Summer announced the official 2010 Screening Panel. Packed with both snow and art industry names, these fine folks have pledged to dedicate their expertise and knowledge in their fields to help award the talented pool of snow filmmakers showcasing their work from November 19 – 21, 2010 at the landmark Tribeca Cinemas in lower Manhattan. The panel will judge the 2010 Official Selections across many categories including but not limited to: Best Feature, Best Short, Best Maneuver, Best Cinematography, Best Musical Score, and Best Animation.

Since the premiere of the first official ABP film festival on September 9th 2004, the NYC based Animation Block Party is dedicated to exhibiting the world’s best independent, professional and student animation. The seventh annual Animation Block Party was July 30-August 1, 2010 in Brooklyn, NY at Rooftop Films and Bam Cinematek.
