Project Twenty1, the Philadelphia-based film festival and competition, is holding its 5th annual Film & Animation Festival the weekend of October 1st through 3rd at the 350-seat International House theater at 3701 Chestnut St.
The Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival (TVIFF) announced today that Raquel Welch, sex symbol of the 1960s and 1970s and current best-selling author will be given the Icon Award at the 16th Annual festival, September 15-19, 2010. Welch will receive the award in person at an open to the public, star-studded, black tie gala on closing night of the festival. Known for her glamour and beauty, Welch has sustained a high profile career over five decades in more than 35 films, scores of television appearances and on the stage.
The New York Surf Film Festival(NYSFF), presented by JetBlue Airways and The Dominican Republic, has put the final touches on this year’s features program. Ten officially selected feature length films and two cult classics are set to be screened September 24th- 26th at the legendary Tribeca Cinemas in downtown Manhattan.

The internationally renowned festival is comprised of more than 150 screenings of features, documentaries and shorts from around the world, a two-day music festival, film and music industry workshops, celebrity studded parties and a marketplace bazaar in the Southern California wine country town of Temecula. Career Achievement Awards will be presented to actor Eric Roberts (THE EXPENDABLES, DARK KNIGHT) for acting, and pop legend Kenny Loggins (FOOTLOOSE, THIS IS IT) for music. San Diego State University School of Theatre, Television and Film will be honored for their Academic Excellence in the Arts. Lifetime Achievement recipients will be announced shortly. Texas Frightmare Weekend announced the award winners for its companion Texas Frightmare Film Festival at the conclusion of the record breaking convention on Sunday, May 2.
