Syndicado, an international film and television distribution and sales group, is releasing four acclaimed and award-winning documentaries on VOD in North America starting June 2 on Amazon, iTunes, Google Play and Vimeo. Beginning May 1 Corinth Film will virtually release Botero, the definitive documentary profile of the artist in conjunction with theaters in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, New Orleans, Boulder and more.

Greenwich Entertainment released the official trailer for the documentary “Gordon Lightfoot: If You Could Read My Mind” – an exploration into the career, music and influence of the Canadian musical icon. The documentary follows Lightfoot’s evolution from choirboy in rural Canada to troubled troubadour to international star with hits including “If You Could Read My Mind”, “Sundown”, “Carefree Highway”, and “Rainy Day People”. The film is expected to be released later this summer.

Grasshopper Film released the trailer for the indie film drama Fourteen directed by Dan Sallitt, and starring Tallie Medel and Norma Kuhling that world premiered at the 2019 Berlin International Film Festival. The film which also stars Lorelei Romani, C. Mason Wells, Dylan McCormick, and Kolyn Brown will virtually open on May 15th on Grasshopper’s new virtual cinema.

IFC Films released the new trailer and poster for Babyteeth, the coming-of-age feature debut from Shannon Murphy (“Killing Eve” Season 3) starring Eliza Scanlen, Toby Wallace, Emily Barclay, Eugenes Gilfedder, Essie Davis, and Ben Mendelsohn. Babyteeth will be in theaters and on demand June 19.

Amidst the Covid-19 health crisis, for the first time ever, the Human Rights Watch Film Festival will present a digital edition of its full slate of films from June 11-20, 2020. Expanding beyond New York City, the festival announced the first eight films of the line up that will enjoy their U.S. Digital Festival Premieres, making the films available nationwide. In keeping with the festival’s long-standing tradition of contextualizing films with conversations, online screenings will feature in-depth discussions with filmmakers, film subjects and Human Rights Watch researchers. The festival plans to return to Film at Lincoln Center and IFC Center next year and beyond.

The documentary The 8th from directors Lucy Kennedy, Maeve O’Boyle, and Aideen Kane tells the story of Irish women and their fight to overturn one of the most restrictive abortion bans in the world. The film will have its U.S. premiere at the 2020 Human Rights Watch Film Festival, taking place June 11-20, 2020.

HBO Max has acquired the 2020 Sundance award winner, Charm City Kings which will be released on the new HBO platform. Charm City Kings won the U.S. Dramatic Special Jury Prize for Ensemble Acting at this year’s Sundance Film Festival for its cast that includes Jahi Di’Allo Winston, Meek Mill, Will Catlett, Donielle Hansley, Kezii Curtis, Chino, Lakeyria “Wheelie Queen” Doughty and Teyonah Parris.
