The Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, will open its19th edition on April 15 with the world premiere of Jimmy Carter Rock & Roll President. It will set the stage for a festival featuring works that celebrate the power of change through art, politics and community. The 2020 Tribeca Film Festival will run April 15-26.

Gravitas Ventures announced today the theatrical and VOD release date of Friday, March 20 for Amber McGinnis’ award-winning film International Falls. The dark comedy will wrap up a successful year-long film festival run with appearances in a trio of film festivals around the country, and in France at the 42nd International Women’s Film Festival.

This Spring, Ella Fitzgerald: Just One Of Those Things, directed by the award-winning Leslie Woodhead along with producer Reggie Nadelson will be released in theaters by Eagle Rock Entertainment. The film will be screened in select cinemas across the U.S, beginning April 3.

Dark Sky Films released the trailer for The Dark Red, a sophisticated, supernatural revenge thriller with a killer cast including April Billingsley (AMC’s The Walking Dead, Last Vegas), Kelsey Scott (How to Get Away with Murder), Conal Byrne (The Vault, The Reconstruction of William Zero), Rhoda Griffis (Parental Guidance, The Blind Side), John Curran (Captain America: Civil War, The Conspirator), Jill Jane Clements (TV’s Bloodline, TV’s Outcast) . Written and directed by Dan Bush, The Dark Red will open in theaters on March 6th.

Magnolia Pictures will release Two Of Us (Deux), Filippo Meneghetti’s deeply moving French drama about the love between two older women starring Barbara Sukowa and Martine Chevallier in the US. Two Of Us which world premiered at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival, will open in New York on Friday, April 10 with a national release to follow.

The South Korean film Parasite made history, becoming the first non-English film to win the Oscar for best picture at the 92nd Academy Awards. Parasite also won the award for International Feature Film (previously know as Foreign Film), Writing (Original Screenplay) and Director for Bong Joon Ho.

Indie films The Farewell, Uncut Gems, The Lighthouse, Marriage Story, Judy, Booksmart and See You Yesterday, along with Give Me Liberty, American Factory and Parasite won awards at the 35th Film Independent Spirit Awards ceremony.

The 43rd Portland International Film Festival (PIFF 43) announced the lineup featuring 10 days of films, talks, workshops, performances, and special events throughout Portland from March 6 to 15, 2020. The program showcases over 120 films from 40 countries, with sneak previews of upcoming releases including Sony Pictures Classics’ The Climb, Disney/Pixar’s Onward, Searchlight’s David Copperfield, Oscilloscope’s Clementine, and A24’s First Cow.
