
Following 30 years in Park City, the 31st Slamdance Film Festival unveiled its 2025 lineup of 146 films for its first year in Los Angeles.

Sing Sing was the big winner at the 2024 Black Film Critics Circle (BFCC) awards, receiving four prizes including Best Film of 2024, Best Actor for Colman Domingo, Supporting Actor for Clarence Maclin and Best Ensemble.

Sloan, who co-wrote the film with lead actress Ariella Mastroianni, Gazer is a psychological noir thriller about a woman who becomes entangled in dangerous conspiracies after taking a high-paying job to cope with her rare fatal disease. The film was entirely self-financed by Sloan and Mastroianni, balancing their day jobs while shooting on 16mm film.

Helmed by two-time Emmy-nominated director Bess Kargman (First Position), Diane Warren: Relentless is a documentary exploring the life of multi-award-winning songwriter Diane Warren. The feature documentary takes an intimate look beyond Warren’s art, delving into her life filled with her signature humor. It features commentaries from Warren’s notable collaborators, including Cher, Jennifer Hudson, Kesha, and more.

From the Academy Award-winning director of Traffic, the Oceans series, and the upcoming experimental horror Presence, Black Bag is the latest addition to Steven Soderbergh’s filmography. Venturing into the spy thriller genre, the film follows a husband-and-wife spy duo, played by Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett, whose relationship becomes complicated when one of them is suspected of betraying the nation.

The film which premiered at the 2024 Tribeca Festival, presents a look into his life, featuring never-before-seen footage and interviews, with Tim as the narrator.
