  • Finnish Film, LETTERS TO FATHER JACOB – film opens in NYC on Oct. 8; in LA on Oct. 15

    The award winning film,  Letters to Father Jacob, written and directed by Klaus Haro. Finland’s Official Selection for 2010 Academy Awards (Best Foreign Language Film), this film will open in New York at Cinema Village on October 8 and at the Music Hall in Los Angeles on October 15.  Other cities will follow.

  • Central Florida Film Festival takes place in Ocoee, Florida this Labor Day weekend

    The Central Florida Film Festival takes place at the West Orange 5 Cinema in Ocoee, Florida this Labor Day weekend (September 3-6).  The festival, in it’s fifth year, has planned an acting seminar/panel discussion entitled ACTING IN FILM and another one for filmmakers entitled FILM PRODUCTION.   Both panel discussions will take place on Saturday morning, September 4th, from 10:00 am until 12:15 pm at screening room #1 at the theater.  The price of admission is only $10.

    In addition, on Sunday evening, September 5th, the festival is proud to announce Celebrity Shrink, producer and author of the book, “Analyzing Monsters: The Drew Peterson Saga”, Dr. Daniel T. Budenz, will be on hand to screen his feature film MAY DAY starring Geoffrey Lewis.  After the screening, Doctor Budenz will perform a Q & A and have available for purchase, a copy of his new book.  He will also be available to sign copies.  The event will take place at the West Orange 5 Cinema (Theater #1) from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.  Tickets are as low as three dollars (military), five dollars (seniors) and ten dollars general admission.  All tickets will also be good for the entertaining Festival Award Show immediately following.

  • Hollyshorts 2010 Wraps With Nicholas Carmen’s Short Film “Piano Fingers” Winning Grand Jury Prize For Best Short Film

    The 6th Annual HollyShorts Film Festival came to a close in August, with Nicholas Carmen’s short film “Piano Fingers” taking home the top Grand Jury Prize for Best Short Film Presented by Company 3. Carmen took home a $10,000 post production services package from Company 3. Grzegorz Jonkajtys won the Best Director Award also presented by Company 3. Jonkajtys directed the acclaimed Sci Fi short film “The Third Letter” which drew a packed house when it screened on Saturday August 7 at Laemmle’s Sunset 5 and also won a $10,000 post production prize from Company 3. The awards were announced during a special ceremony hosted by Jessica King at MyStudio in Hollywood on Thursday evening.
