
The 33rd Heartland International Film Festival (HIFF) taking place October 10-20 in Indianapolis, Indiana, will showcase more than 110 feature films under theme “Expand Your Universe.”

Following his Best Actor Oscar win for ‘Oppenheimer,’ Cillian Murphy now stars in ‘Small Things Like These,’ a period piece drama film based on the 2021 award winning novel by Claire Keegan. Produced by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, the film is helmed by director Tim Mielants.

Making her feature film directorial debut, award-winning actress Nicki Micheaux helms ‘Summer of Violence’ an independent film set in Denver in 1993, and inspired by the true events where over 70 homicides were committed in the city of Denver.

The music documentary ‘Louder Than You Think: A Lo-Fi History of Gary Young and Pavement’ which world premiered at the 2023 SXSW Festival where it won the 24 Beats per Second Audience Award, dives into the life of Gary Young, the drummer of 90s indie Rock sensation Pavement.
