The 11th Annual Key West Film Festival announced its official 2022 lineup of more than 75 films including major fall films from Rian Johnson, Sarah Polley, Noah Baumbach, Ethan Coen, Hirokazu Kore-ada, Luka Dhont, Ondi Timoner and Billy Corben. The 5-day festival runs November 16th-20th, 2022.

Actress Michelle Williams, star of Steven Spielberg’s new film, The Fabelmans, will receive a Performer Tribute during the 32nd annual Gotham Awards Ceremony.
International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) 2022 will open with the world premiere of All You See by Niki Padidar. Padidar’s multi-layered feature powerfully foregrounds the sensation of being looked at. Honest, painful, and even humorous encounters with three other immigrants to the Netherlands are stylistically interwoven between Padidar’s own personal history, opening up a vulnerable space of articulation with global resonance. A confessional collage with no simple outs, All You See turns the spotlight on all of us, while simultaneously asking: who is “us”?
Directed by C.B. Stockfleth, the documentary The Elephant 6 Recording Co. shares the unique inside story of the collective creative evolution behind the sounds of 1990s psychedelic rock bands Olivia Tremor Control, Neutral Milk Hotel, and The Apples in Stereo and many more.

Bella!, directed by Jeff L. Lieberman, and Philly on Fire, directed by Ross Hockrow and Tommy Walker are the two winners of the fourth annual Library of Congress Lavine/Ken Burns Prize for Film. The filmmakers will each receive a $200,000 finishing grant to help with final production and distribution.
The Polish drama Prophet, the first feature film on the life of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński, will be released in U.S. theaters on November 15 and 17. The story will introduce audiences to a heroic Polish prelate of the Catholic Church who exhibited an unwavering witness amid rising communist forces, fearlessness during imprisonment and a vision of the future Pope John Paul II.

Returning this year with a hybrid edition, the 10th anniversary edition of Shorts Not Pants Film Festival will take place November 18 – 27, 2022, in-person at Innis Town Hall, in Toronto, from November 18 – 20, and a virtual edition making its program of short films and filmmaker Q&As available across Canada from November 21 – 27.
Tár, Todd Field’s drama starring Cate Blanchett as the fictional renowned musician Lydia Tár, won the Overall Audience Favorite award at the 45th Mill Valley Film Festival. Other audience awards went to The Whale for Audience Favorite | US Cinema; Our Father, The Devil for Audience Favorite | US Indie; The Banshees of Inisherin for Audience Favorite | World Cinema; Close for Audience Favorite | World Cinema (foreign language); and The Grab for Audience Favorite | Documentary.
