The 2022 Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) announced the award winners for its 20th annual edition with Aditya Vikram Sengupta’s Once Upon a Time in Calcutta winning the Grand Jury Prize for Best Feature Film, and Anmol Sidhu’s Jaggi receiving the inaugural Uma da Cunha Award for Best Feature Film Debut, as well as the Audience Choice Award for Best Feature.

The Overlook Film Festival 2022 will open with the North American premiere of Ana Lily Amirpour’s Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon, which features a stellar cast including Jeon Jong-soo, Kate Hudson and Craig Robinson. Shot in New Orleans, this fantastical boundary pushing tale marks the third feature from acclaimed director Amirpour.

50 years after it began filming, the rerelease of The Mother and the Whore’s will World Premiere as the opening film of Cannes Classics 2022 at the 75th Cannes Film Festival on May the 17th, in the presence of François Lebrun, Jean-Pierre Léaud and Boris Eustache. Rarely seen, The Mother and the Whore will once again grace French theaters June 8th, before the rerelease of Jean Eustache’s entire body of work, slated in 2023.
French actor Vincent Lindon will be the President of the Jury of the 75th Cannes Film Festival. Together with eight jury members, the actor who won Best Actor in 2015 will present the Palme d’Or to one of the 21 films in competition.

The Bosnian-Herzegovinian Film Festival (BHFF) in New York City announced the winners of the Golden Apple Awards for its 18th annual event! The festival awarded the main prize BHFF Golden Apple Audience Award for Best Picture to Igor Drljača’s The White Fortress. In his speech, Drljača thanked the audience and the festival for recognizing his unique cinematic vision.
