Sony Pictures Classics will release the Edson Oda’s ‘supernatural and metaphysical’ drama film Nine Days starring Winston Duke in New York and Los Angeles on July 30, with a wider release throughout the rest of the country on August 6.

After having had its planned world premiere at the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Stateless (Apátrida), the latest documentary by Emmy-nominated and Sundance-winning director Michèle Stephenson (American Promise) will screen as part of the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival taking place June 9 to 20, followed by its national broadcast premiere on PBS’ acclaimed documentary series POV, on July 19.

Sundance Film Festival: London will return to Picturehouse Central for its sixth year from July 29 to August 1, 2021, as an in-person event. The Festival opens with the UK premiere of Edgar Wright’s debut documentary The Sparks Brothers, a musical odyssey through five weird and wonderful decades with brothers Ron and Russell Mael. In partnership with Universal, consecutive screenings of the film will take place in multiple cinemas across the UK with a filmmaker Q+A simultaneously broadcast from Picturehouse Central on July 29, 2021. Universal will release the film in the UK on July 30, 2021.

Actress Gabourey Sidibe will make her feature film directorial debut with Pale Horse, a thriller focused on a reclusive African-American YA book author living with MS.

IFC Films will release the psychological coming-of-age thriller John and the Hole, directed by visual artist Pascual Sisto – one of Variety’s ‘10 Directors to Watch’ in 2021 – in his feature debut, on August 6th, 2021.

Ahead of its world premiere at this year’s TriBeCa Film Festival, RLJE Films, acquired the North American rights to the dramatic thriller, No Man of God. The film based on real transcripts and conversations between serial killer Ted Bundy and FBI Agent Bill Hagmaier, No Man of God will be released in theaters in August 2021.
