Metrograph Pictures will release Sisters with Transistors, a documentary portrait of the iconic women who pioneered electronic music including Clara Rockmore, Daphne Oram, Wendy Carlos, Pauline Oliveros, and Delia Derbyshire. The film which had its world premiere at the 2020 SXSW Film Festival opens Friday, April 23 exclusively at Metrograph.com for an extended digital engagement. A national virtual cinema rollout will follow.

Samuel Goldwyn Films released the official trailer for the Danish thriller film The Good Traitor directed by Christina Rosendahl; and starring Ulrich Thomsen (HBO’s The New Pope, Academy Award winner In a Better World, Festen), opening in theaters and available on VOD on March 26th, 2021.

Director Spike Lee (HBO’s “David Byrne’s American Utopia,” “When The Levees Broke,” “4 Little Girls”) is currently in production with HBO on the new documentary “NYC Epicenters 9/11 – 2021 1/2,”, an epic chronicle of life, loss and survival in the city of New York over the twenty years since the September 11th attacks. The multi-part documentary event will offer an unprecedented, sweeping portrait of New Yorkers as they rebuild and rebound, from a devastating terrorist attack through the ongoing global pandemic. Capturing the history through a staggering amount of visual imagery, and featuring first-hand accounts from a panoply of citizens from all walks of life, the documentary event will debut later this year on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max in commemoration of the September 11th attacks.

The British thriller, Surge, the first feature film from Aneil Karia (Beat, The Long Goodbye) starring BAFTA award winning actor Ben Whishaw (The Personal History of David Copperfield, Paddington, the James Bond franchise) will screen at this year’s Glasgow International Film Festival; and released in the UK and Ireland on May 28th 2021.

A total of 63 films, including 34 titles for the International Competition and 28 titles for the National Competition, will compete at 33rd Filmfest Dresden set to take place July 13 to 18, 2021.

Chloe Zhao’s “Nomadland” won top movie honors at the 78th Golden Globe Awards taking the prizes for Best Motion Picture – Drama and Director – motion picture for Zhao. “Minari” won for Best Motion Picture – Foreign Language.

RLJE Films will release Simon Barrett’s horror film, Seance starring Suki Waterhouse in theaters, on demand and digital on May 21, 2021 and Shudder will premiere the film on its platform later in the year.

Greenwich Entertainment released the new trailer for Super Frenchie, documentary on professional skier + BASE jumper Matthias Giraud. Super Frenchie directed by Chase Ogden opens in theaters and on VOD on March 26th, 2021.

HBO released the trailer for Q: Into The Storm, a six-part documentary series charting a labyrinthine journey to unmask the mastermind behind QAnon. Q: Into The Storm debuts with two back-to-back episodes Sunday, March 21 (9:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT), with new episodes airing back-to-back subsequent Sundays at the same time.
