The Mortician (screenshot | HBO) HBO dropped the official trailer for The Mortician, the three-part documentary series, directed by Joshua Rofé and executive produced by Jonah Hill, on the story of the infamous family-run L.A. mortuary involved in mass cremations and stealing from the dead. It debuts Sunday, June 1 on HBO, with new episodes airing on subsequent Sundays at the same time.

Set in the 1980s, the French drama stars Mélissa Boros as Alpha, a troubled 13-year-old girl; Golshifteh Farahani as her mother; and Tahar Rahim as her ailing uncle, Amin, who underwent a significant physical transformation for his role.

The film is written by Owen Egerton, and adapted from his own short story, and stars Dafne Keen (Logan), Sophie Nélisse (“Yellowjackets”), Sky Yang (Rebel Moon), Percy Hynes White (My Old Ass) and Nick Frost (How to Train Your Dragon). Whistle is slated for a wide theatrical release.
