    AFI FEST 2020 has added a Centerpiece Drive-in screening of One Night in Miami… directed by Academy Award® winner Regina King, to this year’s festival line-up. The Amazon Original film will screen at the Rose Bowl on Monday, October 19. The film takes place over one night with icons Muhammad Ali, Malcolm X, Sam Cooke and Jim Brown examining the civil rights movement. Written by Olivier-nominated Kemp Powers, based off his 2013 stage play, One Night in Miami… stars Kingsley Ben-Adir, Eli Goree, Aldis Hodge and Leslie Odom Jr.

    AFI today announced the full lineup for this year’s virtual AFI Fest presented by Audi running online October 15-22. The festival features 124 titles – 53% are directed by women, 39% are directed by BIPOC and 17% are directed by LBGTQ+.

The lineup includes Riz Ahmed, Rachel Brosnahan, Winston Duke, Elisabeth Moss, Carey Mulligan and Andy Samberg among panelists; and a conversation with Academy Award® nominee, producer, director and writer Ava DuVernay about elevating and supporting BIPOC filmmakers through her company Array.

    AFI FEST 2019 presented by Audi will host An Evening With Peter Morgan which will include a conversation with Academy Award®-nominated, Emmy Award®-nominated and Golden Globe®-winning writer and producer in tribute to his celebrated career, followed by a Gala screening of the highly anticipated third season of Netflix’s THE CROWN. In attendance alongside Morgan will be season three cast members; Olivia Colman, Tobias Menzies, Helena Bonham Carter, Josh O’Connor and Erin Doherty. The event will be held on Saturday, November 16, at the historic TCL Chinese Theatre.
