The 2024 DocLands Documentary Film Festival taking place Thursday, May 2 – Sunday, May 5, 2024, unveiled the lineup of films including world premieres of From Here/From There (De Aquí/De Allá), I Hope This Helps!, Make A Circle, and Not Just A Goof, alongside the North American Premiere of Living with Wolves and the US premieres of 500 Days in The Wild and Hunt for the Oldest DNA.

DocLands Documentary Film Festival 2023 came to a close on Sunday, and the audience selected Immediate Family, Denny Tedesco’s follow-up to his acclaimed documentary The Wrecking Crew, as winner of the DocLands Audience Choice Award. Immediate Family chronicles the journey of a group of close friends who became the premiere studio band for the musical icons of the ‘70s and beyond, giving us a backstage tour of rock history.

DocLands Documentary Film Festival 2023 taking place Wednesday, May 10 through Sunday, May 14, announced the full lineup of in-theatre programming and in-person filmmaker conversations at the Smith Rafael Film Center in downtown San Rafael.

The 2021 DocLands Audience Favorite Award went to Jennifer Abbott for her deeply intimate and thought-provoking feature-length documentary The Magnitude of All Things.

Now in its fifth year, the 2021 edition of DocLands Documentary Film Festival, presented annually by the California Film Institute (CFI), returns Friday, May 7 through Sunday, May 16 for a ten-day showcase of documentary film.

The 5th annual DocLands Documentary Film Festival will be held virtually Friday, May 7 – Sunday, May 16, 2021. The announcement was made by Mark Fishkin, Founder/Executive Director of the California Film Institute and Founder/Director of the internationally known Mill Valley Film Festival.

The 43rd Mill Valley Film Festival (MVFF43) and the DocLands Documentary Film Festival (which ran in tandem this year) concluded on October 18th after 11 days of virtual and drive-in screenings, panels, and special events.
