Pictures of Ghosts directed by Kleber Mendonça The 15th edition of Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival, taking place Monday, November 6 through Saturday, November 11, in Los Angeles will open with Pictures of Ghosts directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho, which is also the official selection to represent Brazil for Best International Feature at the upcoming Oscars®. The Opening Night screening will take place at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.

Private Desert (Deserto Particular) directed by Aly Muritiba The 13th edition of the Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival will take place November 19-21, 2021, in Los Angeles. The festival will open with the North American Premiere of Aly Muritiba’s Private Desert (Deserto Particular). The film was selected as the official submission to represent Brazil for Best International Feature at the Oscars® and had its World Premiere in Venice where it won the People’s Choice Award. The Opening Night screening will take place at the Fine Arts Theatre in Beverly Hills.

Brazil Oscar Contender INVISIBLE LIFE OF EURÍDICE GUSMÃO to Open 11th Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival
The Invisible Life of Eurídice Gusmão, directed by Karim Aïnouz Brazil’s official entry for Oscars 2020 Best Foreign Film, the Invisible Life of Euridice Gusmão, will open the 11th annual Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival on Friday, November 15th. Directed by Karim Aïnouz and Produced by Rodrigo Teixeira (Ad Astra, Call Me By Your Name), the film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year where it won the coveted Un Certain Regard Award.
