Manhattan Short revealed the 10 Finalists for its 18th Short Film Festival, a worldwide event taking place in over 250 cinemas across six continents between September 25 and October 4, 2015. The finalists are Listen (Finland), Dad’s in Mum (France), Bear Story (Chile), Forever Over (Germany), SHOKKosovo, Grounded (France), Sundown (Turkey), Patch (Switzerland), El Camino Solo (USA), and Bis Gleich (Germany).
This year’s Manhattan Short 18th Short Film Festival highlights the continued importance of woman in film. Half of this year’s selections feature actresses ranging in age from children to senior citizens. Audiences from last year’sManhattan Short also will be pleased to see rising star Marleen Lohse once again in Forever Overmaking her the first actor, male or female to appear in consecutive years in Manhattan Short. Two other short films (Bear Story and Patch) are sophisticated animations, as Manhattan Short continues to support this important art form. And as always,Manhattan Short offers short films set in a wide range of locales, from Turkish beaches and Balkan Mountains to the streets of Berlin and the backroads of America’s West Coast.

10 Finalists Announced for 2014 MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival
The Bravest, The BoldestMANHATTAN SHORT announced the 10 Finalists for its 17th Annual Short Film Festival, a worldwide event taking place in over 250 cinemas across six continents between September 26 and October 5, 2014.
This year, MANHATTAN SHORT received 589 short film entries from 47 countries. England, Norway, Australia, Netherlands, France, Mexico, Germany and the USA are the countries represented by the 10 Finalists. These short films will not only entertain a global audience but will be judged by them as well. Cinema goers will become instant film critics as they will be handed a ballot upon entry that allows them to vote for the Best Film and Best Actor. MANHATTAN SHORT offers the ultimate audience award that salutes the creative talents of both directors behind the camera and actors in front of it. Votes will be sent through to MANHATTAN SHORT HQ with the winner announced at ManhattanShort.com on Monday Oct 6, at 10 AM (EST)

2013 Manhattan Short Film Festival Winners, KIZMET DINER is Gold Medal Winner
KIZMET DINER KIZMET DINER, an 11-minute romantic love story directed by Mark Nunneley of England is the Gold Medal winner of the 16th annual Manhattan Short Film Festival. KIZMET DINER tells the tale of a singing waitress in a diner who finds the song that opens the heart of a disinterested customer. The Silver Medal went to PALE OF SETTLEMENT, directed by Jacob Sillman, an entry from the United States. Pale of Settlement chronicles the adventures of a 10-year-old boy trying to avoid conscription in the Russian army during the Crimean War.
The Bronze Medal went to I AM A GREAT BIG BALL OF SADNESS, another USA entry adapted from the stage play by Ken Urban and directed by Chris Tyler. The film pushes past the veneer presented by three guests at a cocktail party.
Reece Noi was voted Manhattan Short Best Actor for his portrayal of a young man coming to terms with the death of his mother in a terrorist bombing in the British short film FRIDAY.
