The Czech-Slovak short film Asteríon from Francesco Montagner was awarded the Golden Horseman Best Short Film, in addition to receiving a special mention from the Youth Jury in the International Competition at the 35th Filmfest Dresden international short film festival.

The BFI revealed the program lineup for the inaugural edition of the BFI Film on Film Festival, a brand new film festival and billed as the first major film festival in the UK dedicated to screening works solely on celluloid. Margreth Olin’s nature documentary Songs of Earth, described as a” breathtaking visual and auditory poem” will open the 63rd Krakow Film Festival on May 29. The film is one of fourteen productions from around the world competing in the International Documentary Competition.

Mom & Dad’s Nipple Factory from Emmy-Winning director Justinsuperstar (Double Digits: The Story of a Neighborhood Movie Star) will kick off its 2023 festival tour as the opening night film at the Milwaukee Film Festival on April 20, followed by stops at Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival and Doclands in Northern California.

Pixar Animation Studios 27th film Elemental will make its world premiere as an Out of Competition film as the closing film of 2023 Cannes Film Festival on May 27th. The film will be released in theaters on June 16 in the United States and on June 21 in France.

Jelena Kordić Kuret was awarded the Jury Award for Best Acting Performance for her role as Asja in the film.
