Sarah Polley’s Women Talking took home the coveted Best Feature Film prize at the 2022 Twin Cities Film Fest. A big-screen adaptation of the Miriam Toews novel, about a group of eight women in an isolated religious community struggling to reconcile with their faith after a series of sexual assaults, Women Talking stars Rooney Mara, Claire Foy, Jessie Buckley, Judith Ivey, Ben Whishaw, and Frances McDormand in critically acclaimed roles. McDormand also served as producer on the film.

The 8th Asian World Film Festival (AWFF) will take place November 9 – 18, 2022 in Los Angeles. AWFF kicks off Wednesday, November 9 with the world premiere of the action-thriller Decibel directed by In-ho Hwang and starring Kim Rae Won and Lee Jang Suk. The film is a sound terror action film and revolves around a bomb designer who wants to occupy the city center with a special bomb that explodes when the noise increases and a former naval deputy commander who becomes his target.

The Savannah College of Art and Design announced the award winners for the 25th annual SCAD Savannah Film Festival. Pinball – The Man Who Saved the Game, directed by Austin Bragg and Meredith Bragg won the award for Best Narrative Feature; and Sam Now won the award Best Documentary Feature along with Best Director for Reed Harkness.

Rodrigo Reyes’ Sansón and Me won the jury prize for Best U.S. Feature, and Violet Du Feng and Zhao Qing’s Hidden Letters won the jury prize and the Audience Choice Award for Best International Feature at the 31st edition of Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival.

The Newport Beach Film Festival (NBFF) handed out its 2022 awards, with The Quiet Girl, the Irish film on a quiet, neglected girl sent away from her overcrowded, dysfunctional family to live with foster parents for the summer, winning the Jury award for Best Film. Lovely Jackson, the true life story of Rickey Jackson who spent 39 years on death row and in prison for a crime he didn’t commit, won for Best Feature Documentary.

The 14th edition of Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival takes place Tuesday, November 15 through Saturday, November 19, in Los Angeles. The festival will open with Gabriel Martins’ Mars One (Marte Um), which had its World Premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and is the official selection to represent Brazil for Best International Feature at the upcoming Oscars®.

The 2022 Napa Valley Film Festival (NVFF) Film, Food and Wine Showcase takes place at The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) at Copia on November 10 – 13 featuring a curated group of films and honoree tributes.

The 31st Whitaker St. Louis International Film Festival (SLIFF) runs November 3-13, 2022, showcasing 256 films, including more than 100 documentary and narrative features and 21 short film programs. A small selection of films will also be available online.

The Brooklyn Horror Film Festival ended its 7th edition with the U.S. Premiere of the new 20th anniversary 2K restoration of Gaspar Noé’s Irreversible: Straight Cut. The horror fantasy thriller Mother Superior was awarded the top honors of Best Feature and Best Director for Marie Alice Wolfszahn in the Main Competition Features program.
