
The 24th Provincetown International Film Festival (PIFF), running June 15 – 19, 2022 in Provincetown, MA, announced its lineup of narrative, documentary, and short films, as well as festival honorees.

Academy Award Winning Actor Forest Whitaker will be the honorary guest at the opening ceremony of the 75th Cannes Film Festival. He will also receive the honorary Palme d’or, which pays tribute to a sparkling artistic journey, a rare personality as well as a discreet but strong humanitarian commitment to key topical issues.

BAM announced the lineup for this year’s BAMcinemaFest 2022 taking place in person at BAM Rose Cinemas in Brooklyn, New York, June 23—30, 2022.

Bentonville Film Festival, produced by the BFFoundation and chaired by Academy Award-winning Actor Geena Davis, will take place in-person June 22-26 and virtually June 22-July 3. Director (The Card Counter, First Reformed, Cat People, American Gigolo) and screenwriter (Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, Obsession, The Yakuza) Paul Schrader will receive the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement of the 79th Venice International Film Festival (August 31 – September 10, 2022).

Sundance Institute announced the 2023 Sundance Film Festival will take place as a hybrid festival in Park City, Salt Lake City, Utah, and beyond, from January 19 through January 29, 2023.

The 2022 Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) announced the award winners for its 20th annual edition with Aditya Vikram Sengupta’s Once Upon a Time in Calcutta winning the Grand Jury Prize for Best Feature Film, and Anmol Sidhu’s Jaggi receiving the inaugural Uma da Cunha Award for Best Feature Film Debut, as well as the Audience Choice Award for Best Feature.

The Overlook Film Festival 2022 will open with the North American premiere of Ana Lily Amirpour’s Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon, which features a stellar cast including Jeon Jong-soo, Kate Hudson and Craig Robinson. Shot in New Orleans, this fantastical boundary pushing tale marks the third feature from acclaimed director Amirpour.

Written and directed by Award winning Palestinian American filmmaker Mohammed Saffouri, Touchline will celebrate its North America Premiere at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival.
