The 2022 Miami Film Festival will open with Spain’s Oscar shortlist contender, the critically acclaimed comedy The Good Boss (El Buen Patrón) starring Javier Bardem, and close with Panama’s first-ever Oscar-shortlist contestant, Plaza Cathedral (Plaza Catedral). The 39th edition of the Festival is set to continue with an in-person format running from March 4-13, 2022.
Navalny, Daniel Roher’s revealing documentary thriller about Russian opposition leader and anti-corruption activist, Alexei Navalny has been added to the lineup of the 2022 Sundance Film Festival. The film is now the tenth and final film in the U.S. Documentary Competition section and will World Premiere on January 25, 2022.

A total of 29 films from 33 countries are confirmed for this year’s program, including ew films by Isabelle Stever, Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson and Alejandra Márquez Abella. Elliot Page has joined the Italian film Nel mio nome (Into My Name) as executive producer and there is a documentary focus on Sub-Saharan Africa with three films.
Berlin International Film Festival continues to add films to the upcoming 72nd edition, confirming films in the Forum and Classics programs. The Forum Special program includes 27 feature-length works in the main program, 14 feature-length works and shorts in the Forum Special program; and Berlinale Classics will present seven world premieres of classic films in digitally restored versions. The Berlinale Classics section opens with Mamma Roma on February 11, and the silent film Brüder (Brothers) with a live music concert will premiere on February 13.

The 27th annual St. Louis Jewish Film Festival will be held virtually this spring, March 6 – 13, presenting a selection of documentary and feature films from around the world. While all films depict a piece of the Jewish experience, the themes are universal and are meant to appeal to all, regardless of faith. In addition to 13 compelling films, the Festival offers discussions with filmmakers and others associated with the films.
