The Brooklyn Horror Film Festival will once again hold an in-person festival for their sixth edition, with screenings for the 2021 fest to take place in North Brooklyn at Nitehawk Cinema Williamsburg, Williamsburg Cinemas, and Stuart Cinema from October 14-21.
Belfast, directed by Kenneth Branagh won the People’s Choice Award, the top prize at the 46th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival. The TIFF 2021 People’s Choice Documentary Award went to The Rescue, directed by E. Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin; and the TIFF 2021 People’s Choice Midnight Madness Award winner is Titane, directed by Julia Ducournau.

The 10th annual Montclair Film Festival (MFF) taking place October 21-30, 2021 in Montclair, NJ will open on Thursday, October 21 with Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch at The Wellmont Theater. In his new film The French Dispatch, Wes Anderson has assembled an all-star cast (including Benicio Del Toro, Frances McDormand, Adrien Brody, Timothée Chalamet, Edward Norton, Tilda Swinton, Jeffrey Wright, Owen Wilson and many more) created a love letter to journalists, following the exploits of a band of writers, editors, and essayists working to publish The French Dispatch, a fictional twentieth century magazine, published in a fictional French city.
The 2021 Double Exposure presents 12 investigative feature films and a selection of more than 15 shorts for its seventh season, taking place as a hybrid event, October 13-17.
The 2021 Chicago International Film Festival’s Opening Night film will be Wes Anderson’s widely embraced and critically-acclaimed Cannes premiere The French Dispatch, a love letter to journalists with an all-star cast, including Benicio del Toro, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, Léa Seydoux, Frances McDormand, Timothée Chalamet, Lyna Khoudri, Jeffrey Wright, Mathieu Amalric, Stephen Park, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, and Elisabeth Moss.
AFI FEST 2021 will close with Warner Bros. Pictures’ King Richard, directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green with cinematography by Robert Elswit (AFI Class of 1977) and starring two-time Academy Award®nominee Will Smith. The film follows Richard Williams, an undeterred father who, with the support of his family, is instrumental in raising two of the most extraordinarily gifted athletes of all time, Venus and Serena Williams. The Closing Night screening will take place on Sunday, November 14 at the historic TCL Chinese Theatre.
The 2021 Hamptons International Festival (HIFF) unveiled the full slate of films including Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch as Closing Night film and the East Coast Premiere of Pablo Larraín’s Spencer as the Saturday Centerpiece Film, and additional films to the Spotlight section, as well as Signature Programs including Views From Long Island; Conflict and Resolution; Air, Land & Sea; and Compassion, Justice & Animal Rights.
