
Ahead of its North American premiere at this year’s TriBeCa Film Festival, RLJE Films picked up the rock and roll biopic, Creation Stories, based on the life of Creation Records creator and founder Alan McGee.

Following in the footsteps of Jeanne Moreau, Bernardo Bertolucci, Jane Fonda, Jean-Paul Belmondo, Manoel de Oliveira, Jean-Pierre Léaud, Agnès Varda and Alain Delon, Jodie Foster will receive the Festival’s Honorary Palme d’or.

Filmfest München (Munich International Film festival) will honor actress and director Robin Wright along with Austrian film actress Senta Berger, German actress Franka Potente and Polish director Małgorzata Szumowska at this year’s open-air edition. Senta Berger and Robin Wright will each receive the CineMerit Award, Franka Potente will receive the Margot Hielscher Award and a special tribute will pay homage to multiple award-winning Polish director Małgorzata Szumowska. As Robin Wright is in the United States, she will be honored remotely. Senta Berger, Franka Potente, and Małgorzata Szumowska will be in Munich in person.

Nana Mensah’s (Farewell Amor / 13 Reasons Why) directorial debut, the indie New York set comedy film “Queen of Glory” will celebrate its world premiere at Tribeca Film Festival.

Ahead of the world premiere at Tribeca Film Festival, the first video clip trailer was released for the revenge thriller film Catch the Fair One from writer/director Josef Kubota Wladyka, and starring Kali Reis, Daniel Henshall, Tiffany Chu, Michael Drayer, Shelito Vincent, Lisa Emery, Kimberly Guerrero, and Kevin Dunn.

The Stony Brook Film Festival returns for the 26th edition from July 22-31 at the Staller Center for the Arts with live, in-person screening. The festival will also virtually offer this year’s Festival as another way to watch, streaming August 5-30 via the IndieFlix Festivals app.

Frameline unveiled the full program for Frameline45 LGBTQ+ film festival taking place Thursday, June 10 through Sunday, June 27, 2021. The 17-day festival will feature a hybrid of in-person and virtual offerings, along with a series of special screenings at San Francisco’s historic Castro Theatre and Roxy Theater.
