
More than 170 American Indie and international narrative features, documentaries and short films representing 37 countries, will be showcased at the 35th Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF) scheduled for November 5 – 22, 2020.

Santa Fe Independent Film Festival revealed the list of the 28 feature films in the competition section of the 12th edition taking place October 14th-18th, 2020. The festival will be screen as Drive-In films at Motorama at the Downs, as well as via online screening platform.

Regina King’s highly anticipated directorial debut One Night in Miami will have its UK premiere at this year’s BFI London Film Festival on Sunday October 11th. The Amazon Original film, which was the first by a Black female director to screen at the Venice Film Festival, features an exciting cast fronted by Kingsley BenAdir, Eli Goree, Aldis Hodge and Leslie Odom Jr.

Film at Lincoln Center announced the Talks lineup for the 58th New York Film Festival (September 17 – October 11, 2020). Talks supplement NYFF’s screenings with a series of free and live panel discussions and in-depth conversations with a wide range of guests.

NewFest, the New York LGBTQ Film Festival will open this year with the NYC premiere of Francis Lee’s much anticipated film Ammonite, starring Academy Award-winner Kate Winslet and Academy Award nominee Saoirse Ronan. Winslet will also present Lee with the festival’s inaugural World Queer Visionary Award ahead of the special drive-in screening, taking place at the Queens Drive-In at Flushing Meadows Corona Park.

The 34th edition of AFI FEST will open with the World Premiere of I’m Your Woman, directed by Julia Hart. The 1970s set crime drama follows a woman who is forced to go on the run after her husband betrays his partners, sending her and her baby on a dangerous journey. The film stars Golden Globe® and Emmy® winner Rachel Brosnahan, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Arinzé Kene, James McMenamin, Marceline Hugot, Frankie Faison and Bill Heck.

The 2020 Richmond International Film festival concluded with the annual red carpet awards where the top overall Grand Jury and Audience Choice Awards of the year were announced.

The Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) will open this year’s 33rd edition on October 31 with Underdog, directed by Masaharu Take, and Hokusai, directed by Hajime Hashimoto and starring Yuya Yagira and Min Tanaka, will close the festival on November 9.

Fantastic Fest has gone virtual for 2020 edition, with all new features and live events available FREE to view on the Alamo On Demand platform for anyone in the United States. The festival will be bookended by werewolf films – opening with TEDDY by France’s Boukherma brothers and closing with Amelia Moses’s thriller BLOODTHIRSTY.

The Nashville Film Festival announced its official program selections for its Shorts Programs, Episodics, NextGen and VR Competition Programs for the 51st edition of the festival, taking place virtually from October 1-7, 2020. Selections for the Shorts Programs, Episodics, NextGen and VR Competition Programs come from over 20 countries and cover diverse genres, including documentary, narrative, and animated shorts. Additional programming announcements for Nashville Film Festival’s virtual event will continue through early September.
