The 19th annual Tribeca Film Festival announced its 2020 Shorts Program lineup of 64 diverse and captivating short films including DreamWorks Animation’s new animated short, To Gerard. For the fourth consecutive year, 40 percent of the selections are directed by female filmmakers. Queen Collective by Procter & Gamble in partnership with Queen Latifah, Flavor Unit Entertainment and Tribeca Studios is back, a program dedicated to supporting gender and racial equality behind the camera.The 2020 Tribeca Film Festival takes place April 15 – April 26.

The 37th edition of Miami Film Festival today announced the jurors in all competition categories for its upcoming edition, running March 6 – 15, 2020. The Festival also announced the North American premiere of Rodrigo Sorogoyen’s Madre, based on his Oscar-nominated short film, and Matt Wolf’s new documentary, Spaceship Earth, which premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival.

The 2020 Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, today unveiled its feature film lineup of 115 films from 124 filmmakers from across 33 different countries. The 2020 Tribeca Film Festival will run April 15-26.

The 2020 Sun Valley Film Festival (SVFF),announced its honorees – Amy Poehler, Winston Duke, Eliza Hittman and Druyan along with the film line-up for its ninth annual event, taking place March 18-22, 2020. The festival will open on March 18 with a special presentation of the documentary RUTH – Justice Ginsburg in Her Own Words with Oscar®-winning director and Sun Valley part-time resident, Freida Lee Mock attending, and close on March 22 with The Last Shift, director Andrew Cohn attending for Q&A following the screening.

The Iranian film There Is No Evil by Mohammad Rasoulof won the top prize, the Golden Bear for Best Film at the Berlin International Film Festival. The film also won the Guild Film Prize. Director Mohammad Rasoulof is banned from leaving Iran and was unable to accept the Golden Bear in person.

Sweet Thing by Alexandre Rockwell won the Crystal Bear for the Best Film in Generation Kplus at 2020 Berlin International Film Festival. Los Lobos (The Wolves) by Samuel Kishi Leopo, Mexico snagged the Grand Prix of the International Jury.

Berln Film Festival announced the prize winners of the section Perspektive Deutsches Kino, with the Compass-Perspektive-Award for the best film going to Janna Ji Wonders for the film Walchensee Forever. The prize is endowed with 5,000 Euros, and as a trophy, the director received a real compass, which is intended to serve as symbolic orientation and show her the direction to take going into the future.

Our Lady of the Nile (Notre-Dame du Nil) by Atiq Rahimi was awarded the Crystal Bear for the Best Film in Generation 14plus at the 2020 Berlin International Film Festival. The Grand Prix of the International Jury in Generation 14plus for the Best Film, went to My Name Is Baghdad (Meu nome é Bagdá) by Caru Alves de Souza of Brazil.

Lynn Chen’s (“Saving Face”) I Will Make You Mine, part of the Surrogate Valentine trilogy, release the official trailer ahead of its world premiere at 2020 SXSW Film Festival. Following SXSW premiere, Gravitas Ventures will release the film on demand starting May 26.
