The 2019 Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, will open with the world premiere of director Roger Ross Williams and HBO’s new documentary film The Apollo. Helmed by the Oscar and Emmy-winning Williams (Music by Prudence; Life, Animated), The Apollo chronicles the unique history and contemporary legacy of the New York City landmark, the Apollo Theater.

The 2019 San Francisco International Film Festival will kick off with the World Premiere of Netflix’s new original series Armistead Maupin’s Tales of the City, on Wednesday, April 10, 7:00 pm at the Castro Theatre. Showrunner, writer, and executive producer Lauren Morelli; director and executive producer Alan Poul; author and executive producer Armistead Maupin; and star and executive producer Laura Linney are expected to attend and participate in a post-screening Q&A.

The 2019 Las Vegas Film Festival is scheduled to take place April 28 through May 5, with the majority of the Festival taking place in venues around Downtown Las Vegas, and some events held at the Brenden Theatres and Palms Casino Resort, which has served as home to the Festival for the past two years. The BFI London Film Festival today confirmed the dates for the Festival’s 63rd edition which will take place from October 2nd to 13th, 2019, led by Festival Director Tricia Tuttle in her second year leading the team after serving as Artistic Director in 2018.

In a statement released today, the Berlin International Film Festival announced that due to technical difficulties encountered during post-production, Yi miao zhong (One Second) by Zhang Yimou unfortunately will not be presented on February 15 in the scope of the Competition section of the Berlinale.
