
The 27th SCAD Savannah Film Festival taking place from October 26 to November 2 will screen 162 films, including 123 narrative feature films, 31 documentary feature films, and 69 shorts, with 10 world premieres and six U.S. premieres.

The Newport Beach Film Festival has added Music by John Williams Centrepiece documentary, and will will honor Producer Frank Marshall with the Arts Champion Award, and Director Laurent Bouzereau will be honored as an Artist of Distinction for Outstanding Achievement in Documentary Filmmaking at the closing night program.

Ewa Wikiel’s Krzyk: Losing Control is the winner of the Best Narrative Feature award; and Miwene, co-directed by Keith Heyward, Jennifer Berglund, Gange Anita Yeti Enomenga, and Obe Beatriz Nenquimo Nihua, won Best Documentary Feature at the Brooklyn’s 13th Annual Greenpoint Film Festival.

The documentary feature film Resident Orca will premiere in Canada as the closing night presentation of the Planet in Focus International Film Festival on October 20, 2024, in Toronto.

The 16th annual Hola Mexico Film Festival announced this year’s award winners, with Rodrigo Alvarez Flores’ ‘Soy Lo Que Nunca Fui’ (Broken Borders) taking home the Audience Award and Ryan Lopez’s short, ‘Onnamusha’ taking home the Tomorrow’s Filmmakers Today Audience Award.

Tapawingo is the winner of the Grand Jury Prize for Best Overall Feature Film of the Year along with Best Director for Dylan Narang, at the 13th Richmond International Film Festival which ran September 24-29, 2024. The film starring Jon Heder and Billy Zane also won Audience Choice Award for Best Narrative Feature, Best Ensemble Cast: U.S, Best Casting and Best Editing.

Amy Poehler will be honored with Variety Legend & Groundbreaker Award at the Newport Beach Film Festival for her career achievements, including the recent success of “Inside Out 2.” The award is reserved for those who have broken barriers in the industry and withstood the test of time.

The 16th Naples International Film Festival (NIFF) running October 24-27, 2024 in Naples, Florida, unveiled the lineup of 58 films (10 narrative features, 12 documentary features and 36 short films) representing 26 countries.
