The 12th Annual Key West Film Festival announced its official 2023 lineup showcasing films from Sofia Coppola, Wim Wenders, Aki Kaurasmaki, Matthew Heineman, Andrew Haigh, Lisa Cortes and Angus MacLachlan. More than 75 films will be shown during the 5-day festival, which runs November 15-19, 2023.

The 46th Mill Valley Film Festival capped 11 days of films, panels, parties, and musical performances and with Radical directed by Christopher Zalla winning MVFF Overall Audience Favorite prize. American Fiction directed by Cord Jefferson and Rustin directed by George C. Wolfe tied for Audience Favorite – US Cinema; with The Taste of Things (La Passion de Dodin Bouffant) directed by Trân Ang Húng winning for World Cinema and Water for Life directed by Will Parrinello took the prize for Audience Favorite – Documentary.

Andrew H. Brown and Moses Thuranira’s Between The Rains won the jury prize for Best Feature, and Tatiana Huezo’s The Echo won the Critics Prize at 32nd edition of Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival. The Audience Awards were led by Sharon “Rocky” Roggio’s 1946: The Mistranslation That Shifted Culture, taking Best Feature.

The 32nd Heartland International Film Festival (HIFF) announced the 2023 award winners with major cash prizes going to “Simón” from Director Diego Vicentini ($20,000 Narrative Feature Grand Prize), “We Dare to Dream” from Waad al-Kateab ($20,000 Documentary Feature Grand Prize), and “Hard Miles” from Director RJ Daniel Hanna ($5,000 Jimmy Stewart Legacy Award).

The Washington, DC premiere of Locked Out will open this year’s 2023 Double Exposure (DX), the United States’ only film festival dedicated exclusively to investigative cinema. The film runs November 2nd to November 5th with most screenings taking place at the newly renovated Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library’s 290-seat theater.
