The 31st Slamdance Film Festival announced the winners of their Sparky Awards, with Gamma Rays directed by Henry Bernadet winning the Narrative Feature Grand Jury prize and American Theater directed by Nicholas Clark and Dylan Frederick won the Documentary Feature Grand Jury Prize.

Ahead of the world premiere at Big Sky Documentary Film Festival on February 16th and screening at the Slamdance Film Festival in Los Angeles on February 23rd and 24th, here is the first official trailer for Stolen Kingdom, director Joshua Bailey’s documentary feature debut.

Directed by filmmaker Andrew Abrahams (Academy Award shortlisted films ‘Under Our Skin’ and ‘American Justice on Trial,’ Emmy nominee ‘Bubbeh Lee & Me,’ National PBS’ ‘The Grove,’ the Sundance Channel’s ‘Hope Is The Thing With Feathers’), the feature documentary Complicated tells the story of kids with the devastatingly complicated connective-tissue disease Ehler’s-Danlos syndrome (EDS). The film looks at parents who risk losing them if they go too far to help (including potentially losing their parental rights).

Rosanna Xia and Daniel Straub’s Out of Plain Sight will open the 31st Slamdance Film Festival on February 20th at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.

Here is the first look trailer for Bliss, the Slamdance Spotlight Feature Film featuring Clint Jordan (Film Independent Spirit Award Nominee for “Virgil Bliss,” and TV series’ “American Crime Story,” “This is Us”), Faryl Amadeus (Spielberg Fellow and her upcoming feature film “Any Sign At All”), Juan Fernandez (“Crocodile Dundee,” A Man Apart”), and David Yow (“The Toxic Avenger,” “I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore”).

Filmed in evocative black and white, A Perfect Day for Caribou, starring Charlie Plummer (Lean on Pete; Looking for Alaska) and Jeb Berrier (First Cow; Shrill) will make its US premiere at Slamdance Film Festival. Also starring in the film are Rachael Perrell Fosket, Dana Millican, and Oellis Levine.

Slamdance announced the winners of the 2022 Slamdance Film Festival with the Grand Jury prize for Narrative Features going to Hannah Ha Ha, directed by Jordan Tetewsky and Joshua Pikovsky; and the Grand Jury prize for Documentary Feature went to Forget Me Not, directed by Olivier Bernier.

The psychedelic coming-of-age horror film Honeycomb, the feature debut from 21-year old writer/director Avalon Fast, released the teaser trailer ahead of the World Premiere at Slamdance Film Festival.
