The Zurich Film Festival provides a platform for the most promising filmmakers from around the globe. It aims to promote exchange between emerging directors, successful film workers, the film industry and the general public. Every autumn, the ZFF presents the year’s greatest discoveries and most anticipated films.

Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen, known for 007 Adventure Casino Royale, Rogue One: a Star Wars Story, Fantastic Beasts: the Secrets of Dumbledore, will receive the Golden Eye award at Zurich Film Festival and present his new film The Promised Land by Nikolaj Arcel.

Redmayne will receive the award prior to presenting the European premiere of Tobias Lindholm’s thriller The Good Nurse, in which he plays a nurse who poses a deadly threat to his patients. He will also participate in a ZFF Masters session.
The 18th Zurich Film Festival will honor Italian director and screenwriter Luca Guadagnino with the A Tribute to… Award for his cinematic work. Luca Guadagnino will accept the honorary award during the Gala Premiere of his latest film Bones and All and will also hold a public ZFF Masters.
Rapper Machine Gun Kelly presents the drama Taurus, in which he himself embodies a music star, and executive producer Roland Emmerich’s team will present the world premiere of the modern Mozart film adaptation The Magic Flute in the new “Sounds” section of the 18th Zurich Film Festival (Sept 22 – Oct 2) screening music films and events with musicians.
The European Premiere of Sally El Hosaini’s drama The Swimmers based on the inspirational true-life story of the Mardini sisters’ will open the 18th Zurich Film Festival on September 22, 2022.
