The Slow Hustle, a feature documentary directed by Sonja Sohn of HBO’s “Baltimore Rising” and “The Wire”, chronicles the still unsolved death of Baltimore police detective Sean Suiter, fatally shot in the head in 2017 while in the line of duty, and explores the ongoing speculation about what really happened that day.

Torn, the new documentary from photographer and National Geographic Explorer Max Lowe captures an intimate look at the Lowe-Anker family as the body of legendary climber Alex Lowe is uncovered 17 years after his death. The film premiered at the 2021 Telluride Film Festival and won the award for Best Feature Film at BANFF; and will open in select theaters on Dec. 3, 2021.

The documentary Adrienne, debuting on HBO on Wednesday, December 1 (8:00 -9:40 p.m. ET/PT) and directed by Andy Ostroy, the late Adrienne Shelly’s husband, is a celebration of the life and work of the actor, filmmaker, wife and mother and a personal exploration of grief. Shelly starred in over twenty films including Hal Hartley’s indie classics “The Unbelievable Truth” and “Trust.” Known for her early ingenue roles, Shelly strove to tell her own female-centric stories and wrote and directed several movies including the Sundance Film Festival hit, “Waitress.”

HBO released the official trailer for Jagged, the new documentary on singer Alanis Morissette, exploring her beginnings as a young Canadian pop star and the rocky path she faced navigating the male-dominated music industry. The documentary takes viewers to 1995, when a 21-year-old Alanis Morissette burst onto the music scene with the first single off her ground-breaking album, “Jagged Little Pill.”
