Filmmaker Aaron Schimberg’s Chained For Life which World Premiere at BAM cinemaFEST 2018 will open in theaters in New York on September 11 at IFC Center and in Los Angeles, September 13 at Landmark Nuart, followed by national rollout. With support from Sundance Institute’s Creative Distribution Fellowship, Tell It Media, Multitude Films and Fourth Act will distribute Jacqueline Olive’s award winning documentary Always in Season, winner of a Special Jury Prize for Moral Urgency at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. The documentary film will open in New York City on Friday, September 20th at The Metrograph, followed by runs in Los Angeles and select American Multi-Cinema Inc (AMC) theaters across the country. The broadcast premiere will air and stream on Independent Lens on PBS Winter 2020.

Genèse (Genesis), the second feature film from Canadian documentary filmmaker Philippe Lesage is a coming-of-age drama about three teenagers going through all the ups and downs of first love experiences. The film starring Noée Abita, Théodore Pellerin, Édouard Tremblay-Grenier, Pier-Luc Funk, Émilie Bierre, Maxime Dumontier and Paul Ahmarani, will make its US theatrical premiere on August 23 at at Film at Lincoln Center in New York City.

The Brazilian gay social-realist drama Sócrates, – the debut feature by 29-year-old Brazilian-American filmmaker Alexandre Moratto, and winner of the Independent Spirit “Someone to Watch” award will make its New York premiere later this Summer. Sócrates will premiere Wednesday, July 31 at 7pm at the Screening Room at The Center (208 West 13th Street, New York, NY 10011) with a Q&A and reception with producer Ramin Bahrani immediately following the screening.
