
The feminist noir thriller #LIKE, written and directed by Sarah Pirozek, and starring Marc Menchaca along with Sarah Rich will premiere at the Brooklyn Film Festival on Saturday, June 1st.

Sundance Institute, will present The Farewell director Lulu Wang, an alumna of Institute’s 2017 FilmTwo Initiative, with its Vanguard Award. The Institute will also present a special premiere benefit screening of her film The Farewell and afterparty at The Theatre at Ace Hotel DTLA on Wednesday, June 26, 2019.

Bleecker Street released the new official trailer for the dark comedy The Art of Self-Defense, directed by Riley Stearns, and starring Jesse Eisenberg, Alessandro Nivola, along with Imogen Poots. The Art of Self-Defense which premiered earlier this year at SXSW 2019 will open in select theaters on July 12, and nationwide on July 19, 2019.

Well Go USA Entertainment released the official teaser trailer for Freaks directed by Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky, and starring Emile Hirsch, Bruce Dern, Grace Park, with Amanda Crew, and introducing Lexy Kolker. Freaks will open in theaters nationwide on Friday, August 23rd.

The film stars Amy Nostbakken, Norah Sadava and Maev Beaty. Directed by Patricia Rozema, Mouthpiece will open on May 31st at the Village East, NY and June 7th at the Monica Film Center, LA.

Annapurna Pictures today released the uncut first 6 minutes of Booksmart directed by Olivia Wilde to celebrate tonight’s advanced screenings nationwide. You can see the opening of the film now and see the whole movie in theaters tonight at advanced screenings. Booksmart will open in theaters everywhere on May 24th.

The new trailer is released for queer dramedy Funny Story directed by Michael Gallagher and starring Matthew Glave and Emily Bett Rickards. Funny Story also starring Nikki Limo, Lily Holleman, Jessica Diggins, Aschleigh Jensen, Jacob Wysocki, Pete Gardner, and Reginald Vel Johnson will be released in select theaters and On Demand on May 24th.

IFC Films will release Lynn Shelton’s Sword of Trust starring Marc Maron, Jillian Bell, Michaela Watkins and Jon Bass in New York on July 12 at the IFC Center and The Landmark at 57 West; and in Los Angeles on July 19 at the Landmark’s Nuart Theatre.

Samuel Goldwyn Films will release Joseph Cross’ Summer Night in theaters beginning July 12, 2019. Summer Night follows, a young, tight-knit group of friends who fall in and out of love over the course of one intoxicating, music-filled summer night.

Dark Star Pictures will premiere the Spanish Civil War whimsical comedy The Bastards Fig Tree in theaters this May. The theatrical season kicks off with a Los Angeles run on May 10, with the title to expand to other markets in the weeks following.

After her husband dies, an elderly woman embarks on a trip to fulfill her longtime dream of climbing a mountain in Edie, the uplifting feature film directed by Simon Hunter (Lighthouse, Mutant Chronicles), and starring British actress Sheila Hanc (The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, Carry On Cleo). The film will receive a theatrical release this fall followed by a home entertainment release via Music Box Films.
