THE FAVOURITE, BOY ERASED, LOVE SIMON Among 30th GLAAD Media Awards Nominees
Nicole Kidman in Boy Erased GLAAD, the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization, announced the nominees for the 30th Annual GLAAD Media Awards at the Sundance Film Festival. Among the nominees: The Favourite, Can You Ever Forgive Me?, Boy Erased, Love Simon, and The Miseducation of Cameron Post. GLAAD announced Special Recognition Awards for Nanette, a Netflix special starring queer comedian Hannah Gadsby; TransMilitary, a documentary which premiered on Logo and spotlighted the lives of transgender service members; and House of Mamis, a Spanish-language docuseries about a LGBTQ voguing community in Mexico City which ran on LGBTQ site INTOMore.com.

International Film Festival Rotterdam Reveals Winners of 2019 Ammodo Tiger Short Competition
Freedom of Movement by Nina Fischer and Maroan el Sani The International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) on Sunday announced the three winning short films of this year’s Ammodo Tiger Short Competition. The winning films are Freedom of Movement by Nina Fischer and Maroan el Sani, Wong Ping’s Fables 1 by Wong Ping and Ultramarine by Vincent Meessen. Freedom of Movement has also been selected as IFFR’s Short Film Candidate for the European Short Film Awards 2019.

Showtime Debuts Official Trailer for Sacha Jenkins’ WU-TANG CLAN: OF MICS AND MEN

The Favourite On the heels of yesterday’s Oscar nominations, Regal announced its annual Best Picture Film Festival will take place Friday, Feb. 15, through Sunday, Feb. 24, featuring all best picture nominees that played in Regal theatres in 2018. Since Roma had a limited theatrical screening and did not play in Regal theatres, the film is noticeably excluded.

Documentary STUDIO 54 to Premiere on A&E

Method Man, RZA, and The GZA in WU-TANG CLAN: OF MICS AND MEN WU-TANG CLAN: OF MICS AND MEN is a four-part limited docuseries from filmmaker Sacha Jenkins (BURN MOTHERF*CKER, BURN!) that transcends the music documentary genre by creating a new lane that merges music, socio-cultural commentary and intimate family portrait. The first two episodes of the series will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on Monday, January 28, and the full series will air on Showtime later this spring.
