Ahead of the world premiere at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival in the Midnight section, a teaser trailer debuted for “Knocking” from director Frida Kempff, and starring Cecilia Milocco.

IFC Films dropped the trailer for The Vigil, a horror film set over the course of a single evening in Brooklyn’s Hasidic Borough Park neighborhood. Directed by Keith Thomas, and starring Dave Davis, Menashe Lustig and Lynn Cohen, The Vigil opens in select theaters, on digital platforms and VOD on February 26th.

The independent post-modern science fiction feature film “The Control” written and directed by Michael Stasko and Eric Schiller, stars Mike Stasko (‘Mike’), Eric Schiller (‘Eric’) and Sharon Belle (‘Sophie’). The film is now available to rent and own on DVD and North American digital HD internet, cable, and satellite platforms through Freestyle Digital Media.

IFC Midnight is planning a release in early 2021 for visionary director Anthony Scott Burns’ Come True a sci-fi nightmare based on the real-life horror of sleep paralysis and how it plays tricks on the mind. The film starring Julia Sarah Stone (The Killing, Weirdos, Allure) and Landon Liboiron (Truth or Dare, Frontier, Hemlock Grove) had its world premiere at the 2020 Fantasia Film Festival and its U.S. premiere at the inaugural virtual super-festival NIGHTSTREAM.

Neon will handle theatrical release for Justin Simien’s horror satire Bad Hair, which premiered earlier this year at Sundance Film Festival. The film has since been featured in Essence Festival, CurlFest, UrbanWorld, where Simien (Dear White People) received the 2020 Festival Ambassador Award, Chicago Film Festival, New York Comic Con, Beyond Fest and One Music Festival.

The South Korean horror thriller “Beasts Clawing at Straws” directed by Kim Yong-hoon opens in numerous theaters nationwide on October 21 from Kino Marquee. VOD release follows on December 15.

Sony Pictures Classics released the new trailer for Nine Days directed by Edson Oda and starring Winston Duke, Zazie Beetz, Benedict Wong, Bill Skårsgard, Tony Hale, David Rysdahl, along with Arianna Ortiz. The film which world premiered at the Sundance Film Festival is scheduled to be released in early 2021.

The pandemic-set, isolation horror/thriller Darkness in Tenement 45 from writer/director Nicole Groton (“The Melting Family”) will debut on all digital VOD platforms November 3.

IFC Midnight acquired writer-director Keith Thomas’ feature debut, The Vigil, a supernatural horror film with a Hasidic Jewish twist. The Vigil stars Dave Davis (Bomb City), Malky Goldman (Unorthodox), Menashe Lustig (Menashe), Fred Melamed (A Serious Man), and Lynn Cohen (Munich).
