The 2024 Tribeca Festival unveiled its lineup of 87 short narrative, documentary, and animated films, including 65 films in competition and 10 music videos. This year’s Festival, which takes place June 5-16, showcases 12 short film sections, presented by Starbucks, programmed to delight audiences with heartwarming and hilarious storytelling.
Gunnur Martinsdóttir Schlüter was awarded the Eva Maria Daniels Award for Vital Filmmaking for her narrative short film FÁR at the Stockfish Film & Industry Festival (SFIF). The prestigious prize came with 1.5 million Icelandic Króna for the filmmaker to put towards their next project. The ceremony took place at the 25th annual Edda Awards, presented by the Icelandic Film and Television Academy.

The Masterpiece, directed and written by Alex Lora Cercos was awarded the Short Film Grand Jury Prize at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. Offering them more junk the wealthy couple invites them to their mansion, but the immigrants actually might be the ones with something she wants.

Pedro Almodóvar’s latest film, the Spanish western short film Strange Way of Life will world premiere as an Official Selection of 76th Cannes Film Festival. This short is the filmmaker’s second English-language experience, after The Human Voice in 2020. The film stars Ethan Hawke, Pedro Pascal, Pedro Casablanc, Manu Ríos, George Steane, José Condessa, Jason Fernández, Sara Sálamo, Ohiana Cueto, and Daniela Medina.
