Film Forum in New York City will host a special presentation of MTV Documentary Films’ acclaimed short subject documentary Lynching Postcards: “Token of a Great Day” directed and produced by Christine Turner, during the week of Martin Luther King Jr. Day running between January 14th – 20th. Each screening will be free and open to the public, and director Christine Turner will appear for Q&As at select screenings over the MLK holiday weekend at Film Forum.
The New Yorker Studios will release the animated short film “The Vandal” on Monday, December 13th on The New Yorker’s digital platforms. The film is a stunning technical feat, executive produced by Darren Aronofsky; directed by award-winning filmmaker Eddie Alcazar; starring Bill Duke, Baadja-Lyne Odums, Harry Goaz, Maurice Compte, Thomas Hildreth, and Abbey Lee; and scored by Oscar-nominated filmmaker and composer Kris Bowers. “The Vandal” débuted in July at Cannes Directors’ Fortnight and had its North American première at the Telluride Film Festival.
POV Shorts, the newest series from American Documentary, continues its fourth season with Episode 3 on Monday, November 29, 2021 on PBS and streaming online at POV.org. Shorts premiering on the series include I’m Free, Now You Are Free directed by Ash Goa Hua, and Seahorse directed by Nele Dehnenkamp.

The Oscar® Qualifying HollyShorts Film Festival will host its 17th edition as a hybrid event from September 23-October 1, 2021 showcasing over 300 short films from over 40 countries.
