Watch the Final Trailer + New Poster for BUSTER’S MAL HEART Starring Rami Malek
Buster’s Mal Heart, directed by Sarah Adina Smith and starring Rami Malek of the USA Network television series Mr. Robot, has released the final trailer and new poster. Buster’s Mal Heart opens theatrically in New York and LA on April 28th.
In this bold thriller peppered with dark humor and interlocking mystery, an eccentric mountain man is on the run from the authorities, surviving the winter by breaking into empty vacation homes in a remote community. Regularly calling into radio talk shows — where he has acquired the nickname “Buster” — to rant about the impending Inversion at the turn of the millennium, he is haunted by visions of being lost at sea, and memories of his former life as a family man.
Buster (Rami Malek) was once Jonah, a hard-working husband and father whose job as the night-shift concierge at a hotel took its toll on his psyche and, consequently, his marriage to the sensitive Marty (Kate Lyn Sheil) — until a chance encounter with a conspiracy-obsessed drifter (DJ Qualls) changed the course of their lives forever. As the solitary present-day Buster drifts from house to house, eluding the local sheriff at every turn, we gradually piece together the events that fractured his life and left him alone on top of a snowy mountain, or perhaps in a small rowboat in the middle of a vast ocean — or both, in this visceral mind bender that will provoke discussion long after it turns your world upside-down.

The Drowning[/caption]
Bette Gordon’s psychological thriller, The Drowning, based on Border Crossing, the controversial novel about violence in children by noted Booker Prize-winning author Pat Barker will open in theaters on May 10th, 2017.
The Drowning, starring Julia Stiles, Josh Charles, Avan Jogia, Tracie Thoms and Leo Fitzpatrick, is the story of a forensic psychologist who is haunted by his expert witness testimony that sent a young boy to prison for a chilling murder. When the boy later reappears in his life, he is drawn into a destructive, soul-searching reinvestigation of the case. An erotic thriller with no let up in tension, The Drowning celebrates the genre with electrifying performances. Complex, riveting and unafraid to tread deep, murky psychological waters, this is a story of shifting identities that will keep you guessing until the very end.

Gordon’s film Handsome Harry premiered in competition at the Tribeca Film Festival (2009) and was released theatrically by Paladin to rave reviews. Jamie Patterson’s Alien Home Invasion Thriller, CAUGHT, to World Premiere at Fantasporto – Oporto International Film Festival
[caption id="attachment_20642" align="aligncenter" width="1000"]
Caught[/caption]
Jamie Patterson’s (Fractured, City of Dreamers) alien home invasion thriller, Caught, will world premiere as an official selection in the Fantasy Films program at the Fantasporto – Oporto International Film Festival.
Caught stars Mickey Sumner (Frances Ha, End of the Tour, The Mend), April Pearson (Skins. Tormented, Age of Kill) Cian Barry (Dr. Foster, Nina Forever), Ruben Crow (Doctors, Austenland), David Mounfield (This is Jinsy), and newcomers Aaron Davis and baby Regan Brown.
While on an afternoon walk with their children, two small town reporters notice the military camped on a hilltop. Debating the possible significance of this activity, they answer their door when two unusual strangers come knocking and find themselves held hostage in their own home.
“Very excited to have our world premiere of Caught at Fantasporto. This is a different kind of horror film. Inspired by films of the 70’s, I wanted a gritty, raw feel to the story because there’s nothing glossy about horror. This is my idea of alien art house,” said Director Jamie Patterson.

Indie Thriller FARE to World Premiere at Newport Beach Film Festival | TRAILER
FARE, a feature-length thriller filmed entirely inside a moving car over three days, makes its world premiere April 26 at the Newport Beach Film Festival.
Blurring the lines of tone and genre, “Fare” marks the feature-film debut of Charlotte, N.C.-based filmmaker Thomas Torrey. Filmed entirely inside a moving car in real traffic and shot on a limited budget, the film is ambitious, tackling mature thematic elements such as marriage, love and betrayal. The story follows a cab driver whose chance encounter with a passenger spirals into a night of darkness.
“The subject matter required an unusual approach, from conception to production,” said filmmaker Torrey. “And just when we think we know where the film is headed, it diverges quickly. Interpretations of the material have varied widely, from concretely thrilling to deeply surreal.”
Producer Justin Moretto described “Fare” as “existing in the now universal human experience of pulling out your phone to hail a cab. What would happen if we found ourselves somewhat notoriously connected with the driver who responded to our request for a lift? How would the night end?”
Presented by the Los Angeles Times and the City of Newport Beach, the Newport Beach Film Festival is one of southern California’s largest, attracting over 55,000 attendees each year. Many notable films, including the premiere of Best Picture Oscar winner “Crash,” as well as “(500) Days of Summer,” “Layer Cake,” “Pieces of April” and others have screened at the Festival.
“We’re very excited to screen Fare at our 2016 festival,” said Festival Programmer Deona Hamilton. “It’s sure to become one of our audience’s favorites.”
“Fare” will premiere on Tuesday, April 26 at 8:30 p.m. at Island Cinemas, 999 Newport Center Dr., Newport Beach, CA. Immediately following the premiere, Torrey and Moretto will join cast members from the film for a brief question-and-answer session.
Torrey and Moretto founded Charlotte, N.C.-based production company Bad Theology Pictures in 2015. Bad Theology’s mission is to produce theme-driven narratives from writers and directors who have something to say. “Fare” is Bad Theology’s first film and one of four films to be produced under the company’s debut slate offering.

Comedy-Thriller “Ghost Team” Starring Jon Heder, Justin Long, Amy Sedaris Headed to Theaters Late 2016
The Oliver Irving-directed comedy-thriller Ghost Team starring Jon Heder, David Krumholtz, Melonie Diaz, Paul W. Downs with Justin Long and Amy Sedaris (pictured above) is slated for release at the end of 2016, via The Orchard. Ghost Team was written by Peter Warren, and produced by Julie Christeas and Schuyler Weiss of Tandem Pictures, Alex Sagalchik of Mott Street Pictures, Clem McIntosh and director Oliver Irving, with Kevin Iwashina of Preferred Content serving as Executive Producer.
Desperate to escape the monotony of his daily life, paranormal-obsessed Louis (Jon Heder) puts together a dysfunctional team — his depressed best friend, misfit nephew, a cable access “medium” and an overeager security guard—to mount his own investigation into the beyond. What results isn’t just a hilariously terrifying brush with the entities haunting an abandoned farm, but also an exploration of friendship, adventure and the things we all believe in to keep going. Everyone’s hunting for something.
“Ghost Team is very much a passion project for me and my collaborators,” says Ghost Team director Oliver Irving. “It’s clear the team at The Orchard is just as excited about the film, and it’s wonderful to know we have such an enthusiastic and supportive partner when bringing the film to comedy and horror fans alike.”

Psychological Thriller EMELIE by Michael Thelin to be Released in Spring 2016 | TRAILER
EMELIE, a gripping new psychological thriller and the first feature from prolific concert film and short-film director Michael Thelin is set for theatrical release in early Spring 2016 via MPI Media Group’s Dark Sky label.
EMELIE premiered earlier this year at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival.
In EMELIE, director Michael Thelin and writer Richard Raymond Harry Herbeck have taken an everyday experience – a couple handing their kids off to a babysitter – and created an original, nail-biting thriller. The Thompsons, a loving family living in a peaceful suburb of Buffalo, New York, are the definition of wholesome American normalcy. When their regular babysitter can’t make it, Dan and Joyce turn to her friend Anna to watch their three children while they go out to celebrate their anniversary. At first, the young woman seems like a dream come true for the kids, as she allows them to play with things that are usually off-limits. But, as her behavior becomes increasingly odd, the frightened kids realize her intentions are dark and twisted – and that she may not even be Anna at all.
