Kneecap, ‘Love Lies Bleeding’ Lead Nominations for British Independent Film Awards 2024
Kneecap (Helen Sloan | Sony Pictures Classics) Kneecap, the comedy film following the west Belfast hip-hop trio leads the nominations for British Independent Film Awards 2024 with 14 nominations, including Best British Independent Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, The Douglas Hickox Award (Best Debut Director) and and Best Debut Screenwriter for Rich Peppiatt. The Kneecap trio Liam Óg Ó Hannaidh, Naoise Ó Cairealláin, JJ Ó Dochartaigh are nominated for Best Joint Lead Performance. The film is also nominated for eight craft categories.

Karla Sofía Gascón and Adriana Paz in Emilia Pérez (Shanna Besson/Netflix) Emilia Pérez and The Room Next Door lead the nominations for the 37th European Film Awards with four nominations including the top honor of European Film. Emilia Pérez also received nominations for European Director and European Screenwriter for Jacques Audiard, and European Actress for Karla Sofía Gascón.

Rory Kennedy to Receive Pennebaker Award at Critics Choice Documentary Awards
Rory Kennedy (Critics Choice Documentary Awards) Documentarian Rory Kennedy will receive the Pennebaker Award at the Ninth Annual Critics Choice Documentary Awards on Sunday, November 10, 2024. The late Critics Choice Lifetime Achievement Award winner D. A. Pennebaker inspired the name of the award, and Chris Hegedus, Pennebaker’s producing partner and widow, will present it.

My Dead Friend Zoe (Briarcliff Entertainment) Wrapping up on October 20th, the 25th edition of the Woodstock Film Festival announced the winners for this year’s jury award. My Dead Friend Zoe, directed by Kyle Hausmann Stokes won the Gigantic Pictures Award For Best Feature Narrative, along with the Haskell Wexler Award For Best Cinematography, and an Honorable Mention for the Best Narrative Editing Award.
