Flee, Jonas Poher Rasmussen’s animated documentary took the top prize at the 15th Annual Cinema Eye Honors, winning the award for Outstanding Achievement in Nonfiction Filmmaking. Jessica Kingdon’s Ascension won three awards, the most of the evening, for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography, Original Score and Debut Feature. Both films have been nominated for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.

CODA won Best Picture at the 5th Annual Hollywood Critics Film Awards, along with Best Supporting Actor for Troy Kotsur and Best Adapted Screenplay for Siân Heder.

CODA won the award for Outstanding Independent Motion Picture at the 53rd Annual NAACP Image Awards. Other top film awards went to Barbara Lee: Speaking Truth to Power for Outstanding Documentary (Film) and Encanto won for Outstanding Animated Motion Picture.

Maggie Gyllenhaal and author Elena Ferrante won at the 34th-annual USC Libraries Scripter Awards in the feature film category for Netflix’s “The Lost Daughter,” based on Ferrante’s 2006 book (published in English in 2008). Gyllenhaal, who directed, wrote, and produced “The Lost Daughter,” acknowledged the deep connection between screenwriters and the original authors in her acceptance speech.

Actors Leslie Jordan and Tracee Ellis Ross announced the 94th Oscars® nominations lead by The Power of the Dog with an impressive 12 nominations.

The Power of the Dog was the big winner at the 42nd annual London Critics’ Circle Film Awards, winning four major awards including the Film of the Year, while Campion herself was named Director of the Year. The film’s stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Kodi Smit-McPhee won Actor and Supporting Actor of the Year. It is Campion’s second film to take the Circle’s top honor, 28 years after The Piano triumphed in 1994.

Dune, The Power of the Dog and Belfast lead the nominations for the BAFTAs – EE British Academy Film Awards in 2022. A total of 48 feature films received nominations include Licorice Pizza, After Love, Boiling Point, Cyrano, Don’t Look Up, CODA, Drive My Car and The French Dispatch.

Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog walked away with three wins, including Best Film, Best Lead Actor in Film for Benedict Cumberbatch, and Best Supporting Actor in Film for Australian actor Kodi Smit-Mcphee at the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts 11th AACTA International Awards.
