
Edgar Wright’s Last Night in Soho was named Best Picture of 2021 by the Hawaii Film Critics Society (HFCS) along with honors for Best Horror Film in addition to Best Sound and Best Film Editing.

The Chicago Indie Critics announced the winners of their sixth annual film awards and after leading the field with nine nominations, The Power of the Dog emerged as the top winner with three CIC awards. The Netflix western drama won for Best Studio film and earned three trophies for Jane Campion, one as a producer of the film and the other two for her direction and adaptation of Thomas Savage’s novel.

The Critics Association of Central Florida announced the winners of its first annual awards and named Joel Coen’s The Tragedy of Macbeth starring Denzel Washington along with Frances McDormand as the Best picture of 2021. Other films honored included Flee won for Best Documentary; A Hero won for Best International Film and King Richard won for Best Central Florida Film.

The National Society of Film Critics awarded Drive My Car the honor of Best Picture of 2021 along with Best Director for Ryusuke Hamaguchi, Best Actor for Hidetoshi Nishijima and Best Screenplay.

Despite a year of controversy, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association went ahead with the 2022 Golden Globes with no media or celebrities in attendance.
