
“Nomadland” took the top honors in the Phoenix Film Critics Society’s 2020 awards, winning the awards for Best Picture, Best Cinematography and Best Director, Chloe Zhao.

Chloe Zhao’s “Nomadland” won top movie honors at the 78th Golden Globe Awards taking the prizes for Best Motion Picture – Drama and Director – motion picture for Zhao. “Minari” won for Best Motion Picture – Foreign Language.

The Vancouver Film Critics Circle named Nomadland as its best international feature film of 2020 with Chloé Zhao’s receiving the award for Best Director and Frances McDormand won for Best Actress.

Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains won Best Picture, Cinematography and Debut Feature at this year’s International Cinephile Society Awards given annually by the International Cinephile Society, an online organization of professional film critics and journalists worldwide.

The coming-of-age drama Rocks took the Best British Independent Film prize at the online 2020 British Independent Film Awards (BIFAs) hosted by Tom Felton. The film won a total of four awards including actress Kosar Ali taking home the awards for both Best Supporting Actress and Most Promising Newcomer with her young co-star D’Angelou Osei Kissiedu winning Best Supporting Actor.

One Night in Miami led the nominations for the 21st Annual Black Reel Awards, with 15 nominations including for Outstanding Picture, Outstanding Actor (Kingsley Ben-Adir), Outstanding Supporting Actor (Leslie Odom, Jr. and Aldis Hodge), and Outstanding Screenplay (Kemp Powers). King, who received an Outstanding Director nomination, becomes the first actress honored with a Director nod.

Writers Guild of America West (WGAW) and Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) announced nominations for outstanding achievement in screenwriting during 2020. Winners will be honored at a joint 2021 Writers Guild Awards virtual ceremony on Sunday, March 21, 2021.
