The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and ABC announced the 94th Oscars® ceremony originally scheduled for February 27, 2022 will move to Sunday, March 27, 2022. The show will air live on ABC from the Dolby® Theatre in Hollywood.

Julie Andrews The American Film Institute (AFI) announced today that Julie Andrews will be presented with the 48th AFI Life Achievement Award, the highest honor for a career in film, at a Gala Tribute on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. The event was originally scheduled for April 25, 2020 but postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

2021 Oscar Winners – ‘Nomadland’ Wins Best Picture, Frances McDormand, Anthony Hopkins Win Best Actor Awards
Frances McDormand wins best actress and Anthony Hopkins wins best actor at 2021 Oscars Nomadland won best picture at the 93rd Academy Awards, along with best director for China-born Chloe Zhao – making her second woman and the first woman of color to win best director; and best actress went to Frances McDormand. This is the third win for McDormand, previously a winner for Fargo and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.

Chloé Zhao, Nomandland Director Chloé Zhao made history at the Directors Guild of America’s 73rd annual DGA Awards virtual ceremony winning the Outstanding Directorial Achievement In Theatrical Feature Film for Nomadland, becoming the second time the award went to a female director after Kathryn Bigelow’s win in 2008 for The Hurt Locker.
