South Korea has chosen Park Chan-wook’s black-comedy thriller No Other Choice as its submission for Best International Feature Film at the 98th Academy Awards.

Taiwan has selected Left-Handed Girl (左撇子女孩), directed by Shih-Ching Tsou, as the country’s submission for the Best International Feature Film category at the upcoming 98th Academy Awards.

Tunisia has submitted The Voice of Hind Rajab, directed by Kaouther Ben Hania, as its entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 98th Academy Awards. It is based on the killing of Hind Rajab, a five-year-old Palestinian girl who was killed by Israeli forces during the ongoing Israeli invasion of Gaza.

Japan has selected Lee Sang-il’s epic kabuki drama Kokuho (National Treasure) as its submission for the Best International Feature Film category at the 98th Academy Awards.

Sweden has selected Tarik Saleh’s political thriller Eagles of the Republic as its submission for the Best International Feature Film category at the 98th Academy Awards.

Iceland has selected Hlynur Pálmason’s The Love That Remains (Ástin sem eftir er) as its entry for the Best International Feature Film category at the 98th Academy Awards.
Norway has submitted Joachim Trier’s Sentimental Value (Affeksjonsverdi) as its contender for the Best International Feature Film category at the 98th Academy Awards (2026).

The Mysterious Gaze of the Flamingo (La misteriosa mirada del flamenco), the debut feature film from Chilean moviemaker Diego Céspedes, has won the Sebastiane Award given by Gehitu, the Basque Association of Gays, Lesbians, Transsexuals and Bisexuals, and presented at the upcoming San Sebastian Festival.

Germany has officially selected Mascha Schilinski’s Sound of Falling (In die Sonne schauen) as its submission for the Best International Feature Film category at the 98th Academy Awards. The announcement was made by German Films, the national cinema organization.
Thailand earlier this week selected Ratchapoom Boonbunchachoke’s debut feature A Useful Ghost (Phi Chidi Kha) as the country’s submission for the Best International Feature Film category at the 98th Academy Awards.
