Alexander Nanau’s “Collective” won the top prize for Outstanding Achievement in Nonfiction Feature Filmmaking and Amanda McBaine and Jesse Moss’ Boys State took the Audience Choice Prize at the 14th Annual Cinema Eye Honors Awards Ceremony, held virtually last night.

“Judas and the Black Messiah” was named the year’s Best Film of 2020 by the African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA), the world’s largest group of Black film critics. Night of the Kings won the honor of Best Foreign Film and Best Documentary went to All In: The Fight For Democracy.

Nomadland and Rocks lead the nominations for the EE British Academy Film Awards in 2021, with seven, followed by The Father, Mank, Minari and Promising Young Woman with six each.

“Nomadland” led the winners in the film categories at the 26th annual Critics Choice Awards, taking home four awards including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay for Chloé Zhao, and Best Cinematography for Joshua James Richards. Zhao is the first Chinese woman to win as either director or writer.

At the 61st Krakow Film Festival, on the June 1st, the Dragon of Dragon award will be given to Piotr Dumała, “the international master of animated film and the creator of original film techniques.” The 61st Krakow Film Festival will take place from May 30th to June 6th, 2021.
